About Us

My first 4 wheel drive vehicle was a little Suzuki Sierra with a matching trailer made from a Suzuki Tray Top. Konnie (my wife) is a teacher and she was lucky enough to score an exchange posting to Tassie. We had only just been married and had no kids so we rented out our house, packed the Suzzie and loaded up the trailer with all our worldly possessions and made a bee line for Tassie. Hey we had a Suzzie, there was no way I was going to black top it all the way over there. So we drove it straight across the high diddle diddle  taking in the Great Central, bits of the Gun Barrel, the Oodnadatta Track and the back roads of NSW & VIC. Of course we had an extensive tool kit and heaps of spares, consisting of a 4" crescent and 4 litres of oil.

Didn't even use them..... I wouldn't dream of doing that now of course.

Once we were settled in Hobart we joined the Land Rover Owners Club and this is where the real 4WDriving started. What a great bunch of people they were, we still talk about them today. They took us every where and I can’t recall one time when we didn’t need a winch. Really serious stuff, they taught me heaps. It wasn’t always quiet kosher mind you some of the things we did in those days would be sorely frowned upon today.

Konnie and I returned to Perth and although the Suzzie did not miss a beat the entire 12 months I thrashed it, it was time for her to go. Since then I have had another four 4by’s and I now drive an 80 Series cruiser with diff locks front and back, electric winch etc etc etc. We have three daughters and they have all grown up camping and touring. Those days are coming to an end now, Billabong, nail polish and boys have taken my place, not even a Hummer could drag them back into the bush. Fair enough, Jessica is 20, Stacey is 17 and Courtney is 14, they've  all been camping since they were 3. Konnie doesn't like to leave the younger girls alone at home, which means her adventuring days are over for now, so I just have to go alone these days.

Gee it just keeps getting tougher doesn’t it?

In a nutshell, we teach you how to avoid all the mistakes we made while we were acquiring the skills. We teach you in 2 days what it has taken us over 20 odd years to learn. Our courses follow the same criteria and specifications that the larger RTO's deliver but at a fraction of the cost and that is a great piece of insurance for you because these days 4wd vehicles are not cheap.

So give us a go, we guarantee that you will love every minute.
