For off-road enthusiasts, the Canning Stock Route known as “The Loneliest 4WD Track in the World” - is considered the ultimate 4WD challenge. In 2006, the infamous ‘Canning” will celebrate its 100th anniversary.

To travel the entire ‘Canning’ takes a minimum of three weeks just to do the track let alone traveling time to it and home again. So we have created a celebratory ‘mini-tour’ enabling international and Australian visitors with limited time to experience just a taste of this unique outback adventure.

Our 12-day “A Taste of the Canning” has been specially designed as a self catered Tag-a-Long, which means you drive yourself in your own vehicle. Hire vehicles can be arranged for our international guests or those that would like to attend but do not have a 4wd vehicle. We will traverse the CSR as far as Well 9 starting from Paynes Find, taking in all of the sights along the way and finishing at Meekatharra. Price includes park, tours and camping fees.

What if you don't have 4wd experience? Austracks will be conducting a FREE weekend training session for participants attending the tour to bring you up to speed. A certificate will be issued upon satisfactory completion of the course. This weekend will also be used as an group introduction and a pre departure check for vehicles.
